Janome Keeps Broadening The Horizon – The New Janome MC9900 is Nearly HERE!

We've been waiting excitedly for this latest edition to Janome's Horizon range.  The NEW Horizon MC9900 is their new big Mid Range machine, offering power, precision and speed, all in a price that is extremely comfortable - especially just before Mother's Day!

With a maximum embroidery speed of 800 stitches per minute, and a hoop size of 170mm by 200mm, the Horizon falls neatly into the middle of Janome's embroidery machines.  Add to it, a colour screen, a great range of on-board editing, and jump stitch trimming, and it has just surpassed its competition at its price range.  Janome fans will of course be used to the compactness of the Janome embroidery arms, and this remains true for the 9900, giving it the compactness needed to make getting to and from classes and sewing groups easy.

Add to this delightful embroidery machine, a fully functioned sewing machine, and you have a stable investment into your long-term creative future.  With a powerful 1000 stitches per minute, piecing and quilting is effortless.  The 200 built-in stitches help extend your creativity, and the 9mm stitch width allows absolute flexibility.  Scissor action to trim as you sew, start-stop functions to remove the necessity of the foot control and a big workspace of over 8" to give you room to move, all mean that you are getting a lot of machine with a lot of functionality.

Cutwork Embroidery Bowl – You’ll Love How Many People Love It!

Cutwork Machine Embroidery is a technique that some people are afraid to try, but once you do, you’ll be so impressed, and you’ll love how many people love the effect.

Cath’s Cutwork Bowl is an excellent example of this technique and her class is the perfect place for you to master it.  Use your embroidery machine to make up the sections of this bowl, including having Inspira Cutwork Needles doing or the hard work of cutting away pieces for you, then piece it all together for this striking result.  The class includes the designs and the construction patterns, and like all of Cath’s machine embroidery classes, nervous beginners are welcome!

Love Applique – All of Your “How To” Questions Answered

Whether you have just heard applique mentioned, or if you have been doing it for years, you’ll love Sew This & That’s Applique Demonstration with Jo.

Covering everything from the very basics of choosing artwork for applique, right through to even the trickiest finishing techniques, this morning is designed to show you all of your applique options and to give you the confidence to give it a try.  More advanced finishing techniques will also be explained including hand applique, blanket stitch, and free motion, and  Jo will show the more experienced of you that there are many more options available to you than just fusible webbing.  We will also introduce you to some new tools to make applique even easier including the Go Baby and Slice.  Finally, you will learn the right settings for your machine, and the right feet to use, to get the best results.
